These kind words were sent to me by the family of a gentleman I looked after for 6 months. He was such a lovely gentleman who sadly passed away last week, aged just 92.

I looked after our much loved Dad (92) throughout the COVID period and reached a point when I really needed some time off for myself, and for my own family. I knew that I couldn’t do that without bringing a stranger into Dad’s home to step into my shoes and care for him around the clock. I was very nervous about finding the right person, but hopeful when several professionals said to me, “the person you need is Jill Davies”. I eventually took the plunge and at our first meeting, I knew that we had struck gold.

Jill has provided regular weekly respite care for Dad over the past six months. We have found her to be utterly reliable, totally trustworthy, extremely practical, and flexible as well as being profoundly caring, intelligent and good fun! Jill has coped brilliantly with Dad’s increasing confusion and other physical issues, and been very proactive, making suggestions which have helped us to make changes which have made a real difference to Dad. Jill quickly established a great rapport with Dad and, as an extremely competent driver with her own car, managed lots of trips out to exhibitions, concerts, the park, beach and regular ice creams! At home, Jill has encouraging Dad to play scrabble, card and other board games. As she is confident with technology, Jill has been able to research topics with Dad on the iPad and navigate the tv/iplayer/video/cd and facilitate family calls on the Google hub.

I felt that I could have time away with 100% confidence that Dad was not only in a safe pair of hands, but that he would be looked after with care and compassion every bit as well as if I had been there. I knew that Jill would cope with anything that cropped up and importantly, that I could trust her judgement to contact me if she felt any situation needed my input. It was incredible to be able to step back from the responsibility with complete confidence.

Finding Jill has been such a wonderful boost for our family. I would recommend and vouch for her without hesitation or reservation.
